The scope will include system design, material specification, Plant Layout, supply of component, system integration /installation and commissioning.
Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity using photovoltaic (PV). Photovoltaics convert sun light into electric current using the photoelectric effect.
The word “photovoltaic” combines two terms – “photo” means light and “voltaic” means voltage. A photovoltaic system uses photovoltaic cells to directly convert sunlight into electricity.
On-Grid Systems are solar PV systems that only generate power when the utility power grid is available. They must connect to the grid to function. They can send excess power generated back to the grid when you are overproducing so you credit it for later use. An on-grid or grid-tie solar photovoltaic system is when your solar photovoltaic system is connected to a utility source or electrical service provider. You pay for the amount of electricity you consume to the utility provider. These are simplest systems and the most cost effective to install. These systems will pay for themselves by offsetting utility bills in 3-8 yrs. Grid-tie solar systems use inverters that meet the requirements of the utility and must not emit noise that can interfere with electrical devices such as the reception for television and must retain acceptable levels of harmonic distortion for a quality of voltage and current output waveforms. On-grid solar systems are advantageous as the electricity is utilized by the owner during the day and any surplus is supplied to the grid. During the evenings, when solar electricity is not generated, electricity is drawn from the grid avoiding the need for costly battery banks.
Advantages of On-Grid Solar Power System:
-
- The on grid solar power systems will reduce the electricity bills.
-
- The lifespan of on grid solar power systems is more. You can use it for a long period without any damage.
-
- This system will reduce the carbon footprint. Thus help our environment pollution free.
-
- There is no need of expensive batteries to store the electricity.
An off-grid system is not connected to the electricity grid and therefore requires battery storage.
An off-grid or standalone photovoltaic system is when your solar photovoltaic system is not connected to the utility grid and you are producing your own electricity via solar, wind, micro-hydro, generator, etc. These systems will generally have a battery bank in order to store the electricity for use when needed.
Solar PV based off grid power plant consists of PV array which generates DC electricity from sunlight, a battery bank to store the DC energy and an inverter to convert from DC to utility grave AC electricity. These plants are available in two configurations a "Hybrid" that uses diesel generator/Mains to supplement battery charging, and a "Stand Alone" without a generator.. Custom configurations for specific voltage or power requirements are available for a reliable power source in any remote application.
Advantages of Off-Grid Solar System:
- No access to the utility grid
Off-grid solar systems can be cheaper than extending power lines in certain remote areas.
- Become energy self-sufficient
Living off the grid and being self-sufficient feels good. For some people, this feeling is worth more than saving money. Energy self-sufficiency is also a form of security. Power failures on the utility grid do not affect off-grid solar systems
